Farewell to Ernie
Buffalo Gap
October 3, 1998

Today we'll keep our promise to Ernie that we'd scatter his ashes on this Buffalo Gap farm, his home for more than 20 years.

We'll meet at 12:30 in the orchard, near the trailer, to do so ... and to share reminiscences, fond memories and final farewells.   There'll be a bit of Ernie's ashes for each of us to scatter, individually, wherever on the farm each thinks most appropriate.

We'll then re-congregate at the house for potluck lunch and -- no doubt -- more memories.

There is a circular "hikelette" which Ernie enjoyed in recent years.   It begins begin the neighbor's house across the road; go up their driveway, behind the house, and follow the red tape markings.  It takes about 45 to 50 minutes ... but plan another 10 or 20 to wander up to the orchard.  The nearly-level route has some nice views of Crawford and Little North Mountains.

Details:

1) The girls will try to park you without causing too much chaos
2) Please bring your potluck contribution to the kitchen
3) The name tags will help us get to know one another
4) There are two toilets: one in the house, one by the garage

And thank you all for being with us today.

The family: Eleanor Frances, Brookie, Will, Wendy, Morgan, William, Bob, Gerhild, Julie, and Anneke Dickerman, and Anne, Stewart, Rebecca and Elizabeth Reid ... plus Tangerine, Buffalo Gap & Midnight
